Iran Approaches Its 40th Anniversary after the Victory of Its Islamic Revolution
By: SONDOSS AL ASAAD
Ahead of Iran’s preparation to celebrate the 40th anniversary after the victory of its national Islamic revolution, millions of citizens took part, last week, in pro-regime mass demonstrations, in several provinces; chanting slogans in support of the Islamic regime in and condemning all the terrorist plots that target their country.
The protestors have expressed their decisive solidarity and unity against all sorts of foreign opponents’ interference and incitement of sabotage and violence. On several occasions, the Iranians prove to the enemies the effectiveness and dynamism of their revolution and their commitment to the principles of the late Leader Imam Khomeini.
Imam Khomeini toppled the Shah regime in Iran in 1979, which has constituted an exceptional political transformation, in the modern era. The revolution has placed Iran on the path of progress at various levels, including scientific, technological, educational, agricultural, etc., and enabled it to stress its influential presence at the regional, Islamic and international arenas.
The Islamic Revolution, through the Iranians’ persistence, has been able to achieve the best level of development and security. In spite of the economic shortcomings, as a result of the US massive sanctions, the Iranians stood decisively in solidarity with their government.
Iran’s enemies have been enforced to retreat because of the firm determination of the Iranians and their revolutionary commitment to defend the slogans of the revolution. The conspirators have frequently failed to weaken the revolution because of the harmony of the fundamentalists, the reformers and the moderates and their active participation in the decision-making process in Iran.
At the Islamic level, Iran has often stressed its support to the oppressed and the resistance movements against the Zionist vicious plots. Recently, it condemned Trump’s decision on Jerusalem; deeming it as a betrayal for the Palestinian people, whom Iran advocates their cause and willpower to confront the Zionist occupation. It has also helped the Syrian and the Iraqis to resist ISIS terrorism, in the last couples of years.
Indeed, the attempts to legitimize the continued occupation of Palestine, the rapid pace of imperialist interventionist policies and the imposition of economic, financial and trade embargoes; altogether, threat and undermine peace and stability in the entire world, not only in Iran.
Despite their claims of combating terrorism, Washington, London, Paris, Riyadh and other capitals have long been financing and arming terrorist organizations to bomb various sites around the globe. Unfortunately, these Western governments also sell arms to the autocratic Saudi regime, which support extremist terrorist groups, like ISIS and MKO.
The MKO has been established 50 years ago, which in the not-so-distant years committed heinous crimes and violations. The overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussain, who had sheltered the MKO for nearly two decades, its leaders and members shifted from the Iraqi capital of Baghdad to Albania.
Since then, the cases of escape and dissension increased among the MKO’s members have been increasing. According to the information, many of them were held in secret prisons and denied contact with their families; fearing that they reveal many hidden facts that could lead to the total collapse of this terrorist organization.
It is also reported that MKO’s members are subjected to financial sanctions, torment, surveillance, torture and other forms of human rights violations, under direct orders from Maryam Rajavi, the head of the MKO terrorist organization. The organization threatens to kill those separated; many of who aspire to return to their homeland, Iran, which has always welcomed their return and integration into the Iranian society.
Currently, those MKO dissidents become a burden on many governments because of the organization’s tough policies, e.g. salary cuts and psychological and health problems. Experts fear they may deal with other terrorist organizations that could exploit them to carry out bloody attacks in several European capitals.
Reports point out that the MKO today imitates and follows the same brutal terrorist methodology of ISIS, which is evident in its officials’ rhetoric. One of the slogans that the MKO terrorist organization has always advocated, since the beginning of its activities, is to support any group that demands separation from Iran in order to gain internal support and to demonstrate the democratic face.
The best way for the MKO to grasp international and internal attention is to express its support of the people of Iran. The study of some historical events shows the leaders of this treacherous and separatist group’s desire to achieve their objectives and violate the sovereignty of Iran under false slogans. Interestingly, they support the Iranian women’s right and freedom not to wear the hijab, while hundreds of women in their camps and headquarters have not had the right to leave the group since they joined.
The MKO terrorist organization claims itself as a democratic and pluralistic project, which respects individual freedoms and equality between women and men. However, the structural and organizational foundations of this group are contradictory substantially with its alleged slogans, in accordance to various reports on how the MKO functions and how its leaders deal with women and other members, who are denied their right to leave this group, obliged to dress a specific uniform, prevented from forming a family, deprived of meeting their families and prohibited from free access to information and news.
The West must stop supporting this group and instead to collaborate with Iran in order to end the misery of those people, whom Iran has frequently expressed its readiness to welcome them back if they pledge not to ignite chaos. How come the MKO advocate freedom and democracy in Iran while it persecutes its own members and suppresses all those who oppose. It is time to leave Iran for the Iranians and to bring an end to this terrorist organization.
